Healing Power of Nature

Health care is self care and we this has become more apparant since 2020 lockdown life began.

With our busy lives the last thing we had energy for was for PROPER SELF CARE. With the busy lives and stress our cortisol levels rise and stay in our blood which is not good for our health. So no wonder why many people have sleep prblems and other health problems. Then add to that the stress and anxiety of the Nation lockdown which was so very unknown to us. It is no surprise that cases of mental health has risen. (see previous blogs on mental health care tips and advice)

Many of us were blessed to have a garden which soon, in 20202, became our sanctuary. Outside with nature has amazing healing benefits. If you do not have a garden parks, woods and other outside nature is amazing. To sit in nature in a state of mindfulness, even for 10 minutes, can reduce stress and ease our equiliberum. Our inner peace. Quietens our mind and that is bliss.

Also gardens and nature are a distraction from the hustle and bustle of a very noisy, rushed and busy world.

Plants contain powerful properties such as lavender. A well known aid for restful sleep.

Flowers Generate Happiness. Having flowers around the home and office greatly improves people’s moods and reduces the likelihood of stress-related depression. Flowers and ornamental plants increase levels of positive energy and help people feel secure and relaxed. Flowers have a long-term positive effect on moods. Specifically, study participants reported feeling less depressed, anxious and agitated after receiving flowers, and demonstrated a higher sense of enjoyment and life satisfaction. Flowers make intimate connections. The presence of flowers led to increased contact with family and friends.

So cultivate your garden with plants and flowers and use it for relaxation and aligning with nature and the present moment. Go out in nature, the parks, the woods and enjoy the calm, the serenity and the Healing Benefits of Nature.
