On arising ,this morning, the world was ,largely, as we left it We awoke in the same place, we fell asleep. The external world not rearranged. History remained as it was and the future remained unknown.. In other words, we woke up to reality. But what is reality? The more we try to figure it out the harder it becomes to understand. Understanding of the world around us, starting with an attempt to define reality and ending with the idea that whatever reality is, it isn't what it seems.
If you want to break it down, perception is defined as “a way of regarding, understanding, or interpreting something; a mental impression.” Reality is defined as “the world or the state of things as they actually exist, as opposed to an idealistic or notional idea of them.
At times I do not enjoy my perceived reality. I ,now, take responsibility for some of my choices that brought me to this point. During these times I reflect on myself and my choice to guide myself through it. Is it my reality I do not like or how I perceive it? Or hoe I FEEL about it? Can I change the reality? Maybe not straight away however i can change how I respond to it and that really does make all the difference. Working towards inner peace and growing from all of the experiences I find myself encountering is creating a newer me..
I am not the same as yesterday and I wont be the same next year. Yet the trees still stand, the seasns still change and the sun still shines. The world in its creation is reality. What we decide to think how we decide to act is different for all of us. So my reality and your reality may not match up. We can witness the exact same situation but have different views. Yet the experience does not change. So what is reality?
