Sadness and it's value

Sadness is not usually something that we equate has value. Throughout much of our lives we have been taught to avoid sadness. However we cannot aviod life happening. If we suppress sadness we must suppress joy. We are emotional beings made up of energy and sadness is an energy on the lower level scale. We usually experience sadness after a loss, a disappointment, grief, dejection, rejection, are some words to describe why sadness may follow.

However sadness does have value. It let's us know that something, someone, a hope, a dream really mattered to us. To feel is to be alive. Allowing yourself to experience the sadness and accepting the emotion and to know it will pass. Below are some ideas of how to cope with sadness to help lift you into a higher energy level.

Music- Definitely my top go to. Music is recieved by the brain in hertz frequencies which can alter our mood,

Visit friends or loved ones. The best way to cheer yourself up is to help someone else.

Be Creative. Do something that you enjoy.

Exercise- Going for a walk in nature is an amazing mood balancer. There is something so serene and peaceful in nature. Maybe it is the natural vibrations and essences of the trees and flowers.

Meditation is a great way to connect with yourself and to help slow the thinking down.

Did you know as humans we can think ourselves into sadness? That is right. So watch those thoughts and do not dwell on them for too long. If you think thoughts that do not serve you try thinking thoughts that are pleasant and see how you feel.

Exercise- a great mood booster and an all round energy releaser.

Remember I said we experience sadness we are NOT sadness.

Just as the sun shines after the storm has passed better emotions will return again.
